To use it, place six ounces (approximately 1-1/2 sticks) of butter in the cup located on the underside of the lid. Fill the crock with cold water, only one-third of the way up. Invert the lid into the water, creating an airtight seal. When it is time to spread your butter, simply open the lid and place it on its wide, flat knob. For optimal results, remember to change the water every few days.
